BLACK BOYS 2MEN READING creative EMPOWERMENT CIRCLE

Summer Black Boys 2 Men is an opportunity for Black Men to participate in a creative positive group mentoring cultural enrichment experience. The experience promotes health education, nutrition, fitness and the importance of comprehending what is read and skills for personal and community advancement. Weekly meals are provided so parents can focus on supporting youth instead of preparing dinner. Progress of youth, families and community are celebrated at annual Kuumba Fest and with a trip to an amusement park to celebrate.

INSIGHT C2C facilitator exploration WORKSHOPS

Community, school and  site based workshops of identifying self defeating behavior and Challenges to Change through creative exploration and insight building. A tool box to increase, health education, nutrition and fitness, life skills, cultural awareness and mastery. The experience is based on the 7 Principles of Kwanzaa, Stages of Change and Personal Insight for Self Determination.

Creative Anti Racism & Human Affirmation Workshops

Creatively exploring how to embrace, understand and address systemic injustice oppression and the new cultural concept of anti-racism. Sign up for on site workshop at [sdurbanwarriors@gmail.com groups of 4 or more necessary]

KUUMBA FEST: san diegos annual black art culture & heritage celebration & Dance conference

San Diego’s longest running annual Black art culture & heritage month celebration of youth, families and community development work in a 3 day conference parade and festival of Positive Black images, challenges and spirituality. A gala of visionaries, keynote speakers, parade of the ancestors and Royal Court highlighting community role models and examples. An exotic African Market Place with books, educational workshops, children’s art village, vendors, foods, materials, art, shea butter, drums, jewelry, fashion and more Positive resources, plays, poetry, and building Americas favorite place to celebrate Black Art and Culture.

KUUMBA KIDZ/SATURDAY SCHOOL AFRICAN AMERICAN CULTURE HERITAGE AND ART

Beginning every April the last Saturday of the month 11am to 12pm Interested families, boys and girls participate in the school of foresight and unity, learn African culture, Black history and performing arts, These youth present at the MLK Parade, annual Kuumba Fest celebration and the summer Last Saturday Series.

Last Saturday of each month in the Park start in May starring spokes person & health educator mr black Culture, art & talent san Diego.

We begin in February with the new Mr. Black Culture, Art, & Talent San Diego Contest for the annual healthy, active, fit, health educator and model/spokesman position. May, the 32nd Annual (3) Day Kuumba Fest and dance conference themed: Black 2 Restoration 5/24-26/2024

Bi weekly classes of SYBU (Shule ya Busura na Umoja) the school of foresight and unity continues the family building with creative rites of passage cultural enrichment, Saturday School program, exploring and learning traditional culture, geography, language and increasing value of African heritage and access through music, song, dance, and cultural folk demonstrations for the diaspora to share and build community through exchange and recreational activities. 11am to 12pm before main events. (Participants must RSVP)
